Qasar Al Hosn Abu Dhabi

Imagine a time when Abu Dhabi was not a big modern city but a small fishing and pearling village! You can experience this history at Qasr Al Hosn, in the middle of the town. 

Built in the 18th century, it is the oldest building in Abu Dhabi. It was once a fort to protect the city, then a palace for the ruling family, and later the government’s main building.

Even after 230 years, this old sandstone fort still stands strong and shows what life was like long ago. Today, it’s a museum where you can explore the Inner Fort, built in 1795, and the Outer Palace, built in the 1940s. 

You can also see old artifacts like weapons, pictures, and maps from as far back as 6000 BC. Learn about the Bani Yas tribe and see the past come to life with big interactive screens. You can also stand under the oldest structure in the fort, a watchtower made from coral and sea stones. Walk through the restored rooms and hallways to see how royals used to live.

Your visit includes the House of Artisans, where you can watch local artists making traditional Emirati crafts. You can also explore the Cultural Foundation, the first community center in the area. It has fantastic artwork and hosts cultural shows and workshops.

You can find everything from excellent fashion shops to toy stores at Yas Mall. There are also many restaurants, a modern movie theater, and fun activities for the whole family.

Sheikh Zayed Mosque

Visiting Abu Dhabi isn’t complete without going to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. This vast, beautiful mosque is one of the biggest in the world and mixes Islamic culture with styles from around the world.

The mosque welcomes everyone, inviting visitors to enjoy its fantastic design and learn more about Abu Dhabi’s culture.

The mosque can hold up to 55,000 people each day. It’s famous for its 82 white domes, sparkling gold-plated chandeliers, over a thousand decorated columns, and one of the most significant marble designs in the world. It’s a great place to explore and take photos.

After your visit, head to Wahat Al Karama, just across the street. This is a special memorial honoring the brave Emirati heroes who served their country, including soldiers, police officers, and other important figures.
