To express his vision of Charles Aznavour, Hayk Petrosyan began the “Merci Charles” project in May of 2021. Talented musicians have supported him on the stage, including Vahagn Hayrapetyan, Arman Mnatsakanyan, Dave Gyodakyan, Daniel Melkonyan, etc, and sing jazz versions of Aznavour’s famous songs. The given project quickly became popular, and it is worth noting that many concerts have been held in Armenia. Frankly, they even sang in Lebanon and Russia! In 2022, they recorded the CD called Le Jazz Aznavourian, and in 2023, it was renamed French Kiss – Tribute to Charles. The concert series was also changed to “Merci Charles.” In 2024, to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Charles Aznavour, the project will launch the “Tour D’amour.” It will begin with a massive live music concert in Cascade, Armenia, in August. The spectacle “Merci Charles” is a musical program and will comprise more than twenty of the most popular compositions written by Aznavour. Each concert will last about an hour and a half and will have five musicians: a singer who is also a guitarist, a pianist, a drummer, a trumpeter and a double bassist. Following the Armenian concerts, the tour continues to Europe in September 2024, and for the first time, it will visit the UAE on October 25 in Dubai and on October 26 in Abu Dhabi. It will be quite a great musical show that celebrates the work of Charles Aznavour!
